Review by hotel critic
Nestled in the heart of Essaouira, Caverne d'Ali Baba is a true gem for those seeking a delightful culinary getaway. As a travel writer and beer enthusiast from Canterbury, I find myself often critiquing accommodations, yet this place has a special charm. The restaurant's ambiance is cozy; it offered a perfect backdrop for breakfast, which we enjoyed on the charming terrace-an activity that quickly became my favorite part of each morning. The breakfast spread was generous, including local specialties that celebrate the vibrant Moroccan palette. One day, I found myself indulging in fluffy pancakes and fresh fruit while sipping locally brewed mint tea-ah, a match made in heaven for a beer lover seeking new culinary experiences! The staff was attentive, ensuring that my girlfriend's gluten-free diet was accommodated without hesitation. In between meals, we relaxed in the inviting lounge called Les 4 Saisons, which served as an excellent spot to unwind after a day exploring the medina. With nearby cafes and restaurants within walking distance, I felt a unique mix of local culture and gastronomic delight at every turn. A return trip to Essaouira is definitely on the horizon, with Caverne d'Ali Baba firmly on my list!
